Join a Local Bike Ride

The Tees Valley Combined Authority are working with Sustrans, the UK-wide charity organisation that are responsible for the management of the National Cycle Network, to help make cycling accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

With this in mind, why not join them for a local ride with like-minded people? There are several beginner level bike rides throughout the week to help you gain confidence on your bike and learn new places to ride.

The Sustrans Active Travel Hubs can even offer bikes and helmets to borrow if you need them. Just get in touch with your chosen hub to find out more.

The closest rides to Coatham Vale are in Darlington, with both beginner and intermediate level rides available. For further information visit the Lets Go Tees Valley website here.

Workplace, education and community group rides

The Hubs can arrange to lead a ride for your workplace, education setting or community group, to help get people out their bikes at a time that suits you. They will work with you to find the right route and distance to suit your group’s needs, whether it’s novices or more seasoned riders. Get in touch with your local Active Travel Hub to find out more.
