Darlington Active Travel Hub

Active Travel Hubs are places you can go to find out more about cycling and walking in your local area, as a way to get to work, school, the shops or just for fun.

The Active Travel Hubs are run by Sustrans, the national walking and cycling charity, with funding from the Tees Valley Combined Authority. They are based in Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Stockton.

They offer a variety of services in different locations:

  • Beginner-level bike rides and walks
  • Cycle training – from complete beginner upwards
  • Free bike MOTs, maintenance advice and courses
  • Free secure bike parking
  • Dr Bike and cycle clinic sessions for workplaces, schools or other groups
  • Route planning and maps
  • Refurbished bikes for sale
  • Volunteering opportunities

Whether you’re wondering where to go walking, baffled by which bike to buy, or considering changing your commute, the Active Travel Hub are always on hand to answer your queries and give you some friendly advice.

Not all services are offered everywhere, so please contact your local hub to find out more. For further information and contact details, follow the link below:
